1. How information is collected and used
Personal profile information. When an account is created, we may collect personal information that you submit, such as your username, first and last name and email address. Your photo will be stored in the server if you choose to have your photo linked to your account. If you choose to login via Facebook, personal information such as your name, email and profile picture will be collected.
Address book contacts. After you have created your family group, the app enables you to select family members from your contact list to join the group. An SMS will then be sent to them asking them to join the group. The app merely provides a means to access your contact list for this purpose and does not store your contact list information in our server.
Messages. We collect information when you message to members in your family group.
Geolocation data. The app’s geolocation feature enables family members to locate one another’s location on a map. Should you grant the app’s permission to access your geolocation data, this data would only be accessible to members in your family group.
2. Sharing of your information
GLABS SOLUTIONS PTE. LTD. believe that personal privacy is of utmost importance. As such, we do not share your personal information with any third parties for advertising, research or analytic purposes.
3. How we protect your information
GLABS SOLUTIONS PTE. LTD. makes use of administrative and technological safeguards to preserve the integrity and security of all information that is collected. Only family members who are invited into a family group in the app can view what is being shared. Once a family group has been created, the user will be prompted to select members to be invited into the group from the address book contact list. Upon selection of the members, the app generates an SMS message with the link of the app download page and a verification code. The SMS is to be sent manually by the group creator so that the person will know the contents of the message and the recipients of the SMS before sending it.
If you are a member joining a family group you must enter the verification code that is from the SMS. Do note that the verification code is confidential and is meant only for your family members. As such, you are advised to delete the SMS containing the verification code after you have successfully joined the family group.
In spite of all the necessary safeguards in place, no security system is 100% impenetrable. Do feedback to us if you come across any security loopholes. We will take the necessary steps to investigate and rectify the problem.
4. Your choices about providing personal information and granting permissions
You may choose to decline to submit any personal information or grant any permission, in which case you may not be able to enjoy FamApp with its complete functions and features. For example, if you do not grant permission for FamApp to access location data, your family members will not be able to find your location on the map and vice versa.
